Bangkok: Suvarnabhumi Airport
Well my 17.5 hour non-stop flight from New York to Bangkok went well. Comfy seats, great food and nice movie selection. My backpack is still missing. No sign of it at all. The new new current theory posited by JetBlue is that it went with the plane onward to West Palm Beach. They didn't leave me a voice mail on my cell phone so I don't know yet if that theory will turn out to be right. Right now I am waiting in the new Bangkok airport, Suvarnbhumi. It's been in the new due to its numerous problems with cracked taxiways, runways and other issues. Its a very expansive airport with some noticeable design flaws. There are not enough bathrooms and the few ones that there are only have 2 stalls each. The terminal concourses oddly start very large but then narrow substantially were all the passengers meet for transfers or immigration. I am waiting for my 7pm flight to Chiang Mai now. Weather isn't too bad for Bangkok, 90 and humid. The internet connection here is very fast so they must have fully repaired the submarine cable damage from last month's earthquake. Well I must board my flight. Hopefully when I call JetBlue in a few hours they have some good news.
